Candidates called for DV will have to pass requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that they are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post(s) opted for by them. Selection Process : 

(a) Candidates should apply only through ONLINE mode through any of the official websites of the RRBs. Candidates can apply to only one RRB for a pay level and only one common ONLINE application (in order of preference for any or all the notified posts in that pay level for which the candidate is eligible and interested to apply) should be submitted by a candidate in a pay level. The selection of RRB once exercised shall be final. Application to more than one RRB for the same pay level by a candidate will lead to rejection of all the applications for that Pay Level. 

(b) The recruitment process shall comprise of the following stages:

(i) Computer Based Test
(ii) Document Verification (DV) and
(iii) Medical Examination (ME)

(c) Information on examination schedule and venues will be given to eligible candidates in due course through RRB websites, SMS and email.

(d) Request for postponement of any of the stages or for change of venue, date and shift will not be entertained under any circumstances.

How To Apply:

a) Candidates must use only the link provided on the official RRB websites for applying against this CEN.Please read all the information and instructions given in the detailed CEN carefully before filling up the ONLINE application.
b) Candidates must fill the ONLINE application form with correct information and re-check before submission.
c) Applicant will not be able to make any correction in the ONLINE application after submission of the application.
d) Medium of Examination: Questions for CBT will be available in English, Hindi and 13 regional Indian languages (viz., Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu). Accordingly, candidates must choose their medium of examination from any one amongst those listed in the ONLINE application form. CBT questions will be displayed in the language opted and in English. 
e) A Separate Application for Each Pay Level

  • A separate application is required for each Pay Level, as separate CBTs (Computer Based Tests) will be conducted for each Pay level notified under this CEN.
  • The applicable Examination Fee must be paid separately for each Pay Level.

f) Choose Only One RRB Per Pay Level

  • Each candidate must choose only one RRB for each specific Pay Level.
  • Only one common ONLINE application must be submitted for that Pay Level, using the link provided on the official RRB websites (refer to Para 16.0 below).
  • Once an application is submitted, the chosen RRB will be considered final for that Pay Level.
  • Applying to more than one RRB for the same Pay Level will result in Rejection of all applications for that Pay Level and debarment from the recruitment process

g) Order of Post Preferences under chosen RRB

  • The candidate must provide order of preference for any or all of the notified posts under the selected Pay Level, based on the posts for which the candidate is eligible and interested.

h) After submission of application, candidate will be directed to opt for the mode of payment of examination fee as explained in para 7.1 and complete the payment process.
 IMPORTANT: Please be cautious about the genuineness of the mode of payment as well as Last Date for payment of Application fee payment for the submitted applications against this CEN. While making payment avoid unauthorised websites.
i) Finally, acceptance of ONLINE application will happen only after receiving confirmation of fee payment. 
The applicant will receive a confirmation on successful payment ONLINE through email & SMS.

(b) The marks of CBT-1 shall not be counted while preparing the final panel. 
(c) Candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST who are shortlisted for CBT-2 by availing relaxed standards of age shall continue to be treated as candidates of their respective reserved communities only for all subsequent stages of this recruitment process.

(d) Pattern & Syllabus of CBT-1: 

(i) Duration: 60 minutes
(ii) Number of questions: 75, Maximum marks: 75 (@1 mark per question)
(iii) There shall be negative marking @1/3rd marks for each wrong answer. 
(iv) Normalization of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts. 
(v) Minimum pass percentage for eligibility: UR & EWS - 40%, OBC (NCL) - 30%, SC - 30%, ST- 25%. 
(vi) The standard of questions for CBT-1 will generally be in conformity with the educational standards and/or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the post. Questions will be of objective type with multiple choice answers and are likely to cover topics pertaining to the following syllabus:

SECOND STAGE CBT (CBT-2): 

(a) Shortlisting of candidates for CBT-2 shall be done RRB-wise and community-wise as per their normalized marks and merit in CBT-1.
(b) Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for CBT-2 shall be limited to 15 (fifteen) times the number of vacancies notified against each RRB. 
(c) However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease the above limit as required, to ensure availability of adequate number of candidates for the notified post. 
(d) The final panels for ALP will be prepared only on the basis of marks and merit of candidates in CBT-2 & CBAT.

(i) CBT-2 shall comprise of two parts viz., Part-A and Part-B as detailed below.
(ii) Total Duration: 2 hours and 30 minutes & Total Questions: 175 
 
Part-A: 90 minutes & 100 questions 
Part-B: 60 minutes & 75 questions 

(iii) There shall be negative marking @1/3rd marks for each wrong answer. 
(iv) Normalization of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts. 
(v) In Part -A, Minimum pass percentage for eligibility: UR & EWS - 40%, OBC (NCL) - 30%, SC - 30%, ST-25%. 
(vi) Only the marks scored in Part-A shall be counted for shortlisting of candidates for further stages of this recruitment process provided the candidate irrespective of community is able to secure qualifying marks (35%) in Part-B. 

(vii) SYLLABUS for Part-A: 

(A) Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc. 
(B) General Intelligence and Reasoning: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and decision making, Similarities and differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement-Arguments and Assumptions etc. 
(C) Basic Science and Engineering: The broad topics that are covered under this shall be Engineering Drawing (Projections, Views, Drawing Instruments, Lines, Geometric figures, Symbolic Representation), Units, Measurements, Mass Weight and Density, Work Power and Energy, Speed and Velocity, Heat and Temperature, Basic Electricity, Levers and Simple Machines, Occupational Safety and Health, Environment Education, IT Literacy etc. 

(viii) SYLLABUS for Part-B: 

(A) Part-B is only a qualifying test in nature and shall have questions from the various trade syllabi as prescribed by Directorate General of Training (DGT). 
(B) Note: Qualifying Percentage-35% for all candidates irrespective of category/community. 
(C) Syllabus of Various Trades: Please check the website (https://dgt.gov.in.) of Directorate General of Training (GOI) for syllabi of different technical trades. 
(D) Candidates with ITI/Trade Apprenticeship qualification will be required to appear in the section having questions from their trade. 
(E) Degree, Diploma candidates have to select one trade from the list of trades listed below against their engineering discipline.

Educational Qualification :

A) Matriculation / SSLC plus ITI from recognised institutions of NCVT/SCVT in the trades of Fitter, Electrician, Instrument Mechanic, Millwright/Maintenance Mechanic, Mechanic (Radio & TV), Electronics Mechanic, Mechanic (Motor Vehicle), Wireman, Tractor Mechanic, Armature & Coil Winder, Mechanic (Diesel), Heat Engine, Turner, Machinist, Refrigeration & Air- Conditioning Mechanic.

Matriculation / SSLC plus Course Completed Act Apprenticeship in the trades mentioned above

(OR)

B)Matriculation / SSLC plus three years Diploma in Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile Engineering (OR) combination of various streams of these Engineering disciplines from a recognised Institution in lieu of ITI. 

Note: Degree in the Engineering disciplines as above will also be acceptable in lieu of Diploma in Engineering.

Age Limit: (as on 01-07-2025):

18 to 30 years. The lower and upper age limit is common for all the notified posts and the same shall be reckoned.

Exam Fee:

Candidates applying for the posts in this CEN have to pay the prescribed fee as per their category detailed below:

For candidates who belong to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Transgender, Minorities or Economically Backward Class (EBC). (Caution to Candidates: EBC should not be confused with OBC or EWS) This fee of Rs 250/- shall be refunded duly deducting bank charges as applicable, on appearing in 1st Stage CBT.

a) Only ONLINE fee payment through internet banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI will be accepted. All applicable service charges shall be borne by the candidate. 
b) Fee can be paid by the candidates through ONLINE mode only. There will be no option to pay fee through any other mode. 
c) Applications received without the prescribed fee shall not be considered and summarily rejected. No representation against such rejection will be entertained. 

Scale of Pay :

Level 02 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of Rs.-19900/- plus other allowances as admissible.

Syllabus :

FIRST STAGE CBT (CBT-1):

(a) CBT-1 will only be a screening exam for shortlisting eligible candidates for CBT-2 based on their normalized marks and merit. 
(b) The marks of CBT-1 shall not be counted while preparing the final panel. 
(c) Candidates belonging to OBC/SC/ST who are shortlisted for CBT-2 by availing relaxed standards of age shall continue to be treated as candidates of their respective reserved communities only for all subsequent stages of this recruitment process.

(d) Pattern & Syllabus of CBT-1: 

(i) Duration: 60 minutes
(ii) Number of questions: 75, Maximum marks: 75 (@1 mark per question)
(iii) There shall be negative marking @1/3rd marks for each wrong answer. 
(iv) Normalization of marks will be done for CBTs held in multiple shifts. 
(v) Minimum pass percentage for eligibility: UR & EWS - 40%, OBC (NCL) - 30%, SC - 30%, ST- 25%. 
(vi) The standard of questions for CBT-1 will generally be in conformity with the educational standards and/or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the post. Questions will be of objective type with multiple choice answers and are likely to cover topics pertaining to the following syllabus: 

(A) Mathematics: Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc. 

(B) Mental Ability: Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement - Arguments and Assumptions etc. 

(C) General Science: The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level. 
(D) General Awareness: Current affairs, science & technology, sports, culture, personalities, economics, politics and other subject of importance.

SECOND STAGE CBT (CBT-2): 

(a) Shortlisting of candidates for CBT-2 shall be done RRB-wise and community-wise as per their normalized marks and merit in CBT-1.
(b) Total number of candidates to be shortlisted for CBT-2 shall be limited to 15 (fifteen) times the number of vacancies notified against each RRB. 
(c) However, Railways reserve the right to increase/decrease the above limit as required, to ensure availability of adequate number of candidates for the notified post. 
(d) The final panels for ALP will be prepared only on the basis of marks and merit of candidates in CBT-2 & CBAT. 

(e) Pattern & Syllabus of CBT-2: 

(i) CBT-2 shall comprise of two parts viz., Part-A and Part-B as detailed below.

How To Apply:

(a) Candidates must read all information and instruction carefully before filling the ONLINE application to prevent mistakes.

(b) For filling ONLINE APPLICATION, Candidates must go through the link given for this CEN, in the official RRB websites at para 13 (j) below. Candidates are allowed to choose only one RRB and submit only one ONLINE Application for the notified posts within chosen RRB only.

(c) During the ONLINE APPLICATION, Candidate will be asked to Create Account. If a candidate has already created an account for any Indian Railways CEN of 2024, before April 2025, they should use same account credentials to log in and apply for this CEN (i.e., CEN No 01/2025) as well. If the candidate has not “Created Account” till now, candidates must first create an account. Candidates are advised to fill in the details required for account creation with utmost care, as corrections of any kind will NOT be permitted once the account is created. 

(d) They must have an active personal mobile number and a valid email ID for receiving OTPs for account creation. No change in details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and email ID) will be permitted later. 

(e) Candidates are advised, in their own interest to authenticate their identity using Aadhaar during the " Create an Account " activity, which will facilitate a smoother process at different stages of recruitment for the candidates themselves. If applicants verify their identity & other primary details with alternate Photo IDs will be subjected to significantly stricter & more detailed scrutiny at every stage of recruitment process 

(f) 12 Details filled in the ’Create an Account’ form such as mobile number and Email ID, Applicant Name, Father Name, Mother Name, Gender, Nationality, Date of Birth, Matriculation Roll Number & Matriculation Certificate Serial Number, Matriculation Certificate date and EKYC, cannot be modified at any stage once the account is created under any circumstances. 

(g) After the submission of the ONLINE application (complete in all respects) and paid requisite fee successfully, if a candidate wishes to further modify, change or correct any detail except 12 details filled in ‘Create an Account’ and also “Chosen RRB”, he/she may do so by paying a modification fee of Rs. 250/- (non-refundable) for each occasion from 14-05-2025 to 23-05-2025. Details filled in ‘Create an Account’ form and Chosen RRB cannot be changed. After 23-05-2025, RRBs shall not entertain any representation for modification of the information furnished in the application.

RECRUITMENT PROCESS :

There shall be a Single Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by Translation Test (TT)/Performance Test (PT)/Teaching Skill Test (TST) (as applicable) and document verification and medical
examination thereafter. RRBs reserve the right to conduct the CBT in Single or multi stage mode.

How to Apply :

a) Click on the Apply: (Create an Account / and already have an Account). During the ONLINE APPLICATION, candidates will be asked to ‘Create Account’. If a candidate has already created an Account for CENs notified in 2024, they should use same account credentials to log in and apply for this CEN as well. If the candidates have not created an Account earlier, they must first ‘Create an Account’ before proceeding to fill up the application for this CEN. Candidates are advised to fill in the details required for account creation with utmost care, as corrections of any kind will not be permitted once the account is created. Details filled in the ‘Create an Account’ form (including mobile number and Email ID) cannot be modified at any stage once the account is created. 

b) Registration Details: Enter your name, Date of Birth and Father‘s name as per Para 1.7 of General Instructions, Mother‘s Name, Aadhaar Number, SSLC/Matric Roll Number, Year of Passing, Mobile Number and email-ID and then submit for registration. Before submitting for registration, ensure and confirm that all the information furnished above are correct, as the details furnished for registration cannot be changed later. Please note that the email ID and mobile number used for the Registration must be yours and unique. Also note that both the email and mobile number will be verified during the Online Application process with a One Time Password (OTP). 

c) Verification of email ID and mobile number through OTP: On submitting the primary details, OTPs shall be sent to the registered mobile number and email. The candidate should retrieve the OTPs from email and Mobile and then enter OTPs to proceed with the filling up of application and to make payment through OTP “Activation Link”

d) On successful OTP activation, Registration Number will be generated and sent on registered email ID and mobile number. Candidates should note and preserve their Registration Number for later reference during the recruitment process and RRB will not entertain any request seeking registration number. Before final submission of application, candidates are advised, in their own interest to authenticate their identity using Aadhaar during the “Create an Account" stage. If they miss this step, they can still authenticate Aadhaar during the process of filling the details in online application by using the “Verify Aadhaar" facility after providing their Aadhaar details. This action will facilitate a smoother process at different stages of recruitment for the candidates. 

e) Candidates can proceed with the online application by clicking on the “Candidate Login” button on the Home Page using the Registration Number and password. In the Part-I of application page, provide the details of Educational Qualification, Community i.e. UR/OBC (NCL)/SC/ST/EWS, Gender, Religion, Ex SM, PwBD, Minority, Economically Backward Class and Age Relaxation eligibility category as applicable and other details. 

f) Payment and Bank Account Details: On completion of application details as above, the candidate will be directed to the payment page to choose payment mode i.e. Bank (Online Net Banking/Credit Card/Debit Card/UPI explained in Para 7.0 and complete the payment process. Chose the mode of payment and complete the payment process. If there is a failure of online payments, the candidate has to make another transaction. Please note the last date and time specified for each mode of payment and submit the application well in time. 

g) In the Part-II of application page, candidate has to indicate their priority/preference of the posts. Set priority / preferences for posts: If the candidate is eligible for more than one post based on his/her educational qualification and other details furnished, he/she must set the priority/preferences for these posts. The list of posts (in the chosen RRB) for which a candidate is eligible is displayed. Similarly, if the chosen RRB has vacancies for more than one Railway/Production Unit, then vacancies for all such Railways/Production Units for which a candidate is eligible, will be listed out. The candidate should fill their priority/preferences number in the textbox against each post that they are eligible for, in the RRB they are applying to. 

h) Scribe for PwBD Candidates: Indicate option for scribe if you are a PwBD candidate and eligible for scribe. In case of persons with benchmark disabilities in the category of Blindness, Locomotor Disability (Both Arm affected – BA) and Cerebral Palsy, the facility of scribe shall be given, if so desired by the person. The candidate can avail the assistance of scribe after submission of letter of undertaking as per Annexure-V(D) at the examination centre. In case of other category of persons with benchmark disabilities, the provision of scribe can be allowed on production of a certificate to the effect that the person concerned has physical limitation to write and scribe is essential to write examination on his behalf, from the Chief Medical Officer/Civil Surgeon/Medical Superintendant of a Government Health Care institution. 
The candidate can avail the assistance of scribe after producing the certificate as per Annexure-V(G) and submission of letter of undertaking as per Annexure-V(D) at the examination centre. The PwBD persons having less than 40% disability (covered under the definition of Section 2(s) of the RPwD Act, 2016 but not covered under the definition of Section 2(r) of the said Act) and having difficulty in writing can also avail the assistance of scribe for writing answers on their behalf after producing the certificate as per Annexure-V(E) and submission of letter of undertaking as per Annexure-V(F) at the examination centre. In case you have firmed up the scribe, then enter the details of scribe such as name, father‘s name, educational qualification etc. The scribe so arranged should not himself/herself be the candidate for the notification for which the candidate is appearing and same scribe should not be engaged for more than one candidate.

i) Detailed Educational Qualification: Furnish all the relevant information on the qualification as required in the application.

j) Choice of Exam Language: English is the default language. In case the candidate wishes to choose any other language,then the same can be selected from the drop down list of languages. The languages listed are Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Konkani, Malayalam, Manipuri, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. In case of any difference/ discrepancy/dispute in the Questions between English and the opted language, the content of English version shall prevail. 

k) Complete the balance fields e.g. Mother Tongue, Moles/Identification Marks, Address etc.

l) Bank Account Details for Refund: Candidates who attend 1st Stage CBT are eligible for refund of examination fee as per details in Para 7.0. All candidates who have given the confirmation to receive their refund to the account from which they have made the application fee payment, need not fill these details and hence, this will not be visible for them. Only those candidates who do not wish to receive the refund in the account through which they paid examination fee should provide the details of Beneficiary Account in which they wish to receive the refund viz. Beneficiary Name, Account Number, Name of Bank and IFSC Code in the Online Application. 

m) Candidates may indicate their consent or otherwise for sharing the scores obtained by them in RRB exams with other Ministries/Departments/PSUs and Private organizations, for recruitment in their organizations.

n) Photographand SignatureUpload:
(i) Candidate will be automatically directed to “Photo and Signature Upload” part of the application.

Submission of Application:

In the end candidates have to confirm the declaration “I hereby declare that I have gone through the eligibility criteria for the post(s) applied for and meet all the requirements therein, that all the details furnished by me in the application are true and complete to the best of my knowledge & belief and nothing has been concealed or suppressed. I also understand that in case, any of the details furnished is found untrue during any stage of recruitment or thereafter, RRB shall disqualify me for the post(s) applied for and /or I shall be liable for any other action under the extant rules”. 

After confirming the above declaration and submission of the application, the candidate may save the file as ‘PDF’ and/or take print of the application and preserve it for reference and record.
