Apply Online :

(a) Candidates must read all the information and instructions carefully before filling the online application to prevent mistakes.
(b) Candidates must first 'Create an account' for this CEN through the link given in the official RRB websites at Para 15 (g) below. They must have an active personal mobile number and a valid email ID for receiving OTPs for account creation. No change in details filled in 'Create an Account' form (including mobile number and email ID) will be permitted later. If a candidate has already created an Account for CENs notified in 2024, he/she should use same account credentials to log in and apply for this CEN (i.e., CEN No. 03/2024) as well. 
(c) Candidates can apply for the notified posts of any one RRB as per their eligibility only through ONLINE application mode by visiting the official website of RRBs listed at Para 15 (g). Read all the Information and Instructions detailed in the CEN thoroughly before starting the filling up of application by clicking the CEN.03/2024 Link on the RRB Website. It is essential that the candidate understands all information of the CEN correctly to prevent any mistakes while filling application. 
(d) Scribe for PwBD Candidates: Indicate option for scribe if you are a PwBD candidate and eligible for scribe. Only the candidates suffering from Visually Impairment (VI) or the candidates whose writing speed is affected by Cerebral Palsy/muscular dystrophy/candidates with Locomotor disability (one arm)/intellectual disability (Autism, specific learning disability and mental illness) are eligible for availing scribe against this CEN. In case you have firmed up the scribe, then enter the details of scribe such as name, father's name, educational qualification etc. The scribe so arranged should not himself/herself be the candidate for the notification for which the candidate is appearing and same scribe should not be engaged for more than one candidate. 
(e) Mandatory scanned documents to be kept ready before filling the online application: 

i. Recent, clear colour passport size photograph (against a plain white background) of the candidate in JPEG image (size 30 to 70 KB) - without wearing dark glasses and/or cap.
Note: Candidates must have at least 12 (twelve) copies of the same photograph for future use during the recruitment process.
ii. Scanned JPEG image of candidate's signature in running handwriting (size 30 to 70 KB).
iii. SC/ST Certificate (only for candidates requesting free pass for train travel) in pdf format (up to 500 KB).
iv. PwBD candidates should also upload passport size photograph as per above specifications only (and not the full body photograph used in the disability certificate).
v. Scribe (Applicable to eligible PwBD candidates only): Provide details of Scribe duly uploading his/her passport size photograph (against a plain white background) of the scribe in JPEG image (size 30 to 70 KB) - without wearing dark glasses and/or cap. Furnishing of information of Scribe is mandatory.

Change of Scribe at the exam venue is generally not permitted. However, under exceptional circumstances the change may be allowed duly recording reasons and filling the relevant details including photograph of the Scribe.

a) Confirm that you have read and understood the instructions clearly by clicking the check box. Attendance Sheet as proof of appearance in the PET/PMT. 
b) Enter your name, Date of Birth and Father's name, Mother's name, Aadhaar (ix) Agrievance redressal cell will be set up for redressal of grievances related to Height and number(Optional), State/UT, Category, Education Board, 10th/Matric Roll number, year of Chest measurements. 
c) On submitting registration form, the registration number and password shall be displayed to (35% for SC/ST candidates) to qualify further stages of the selection. the candidate. Also, OTPs (One Time Password) shall be sent to the registered mobile 
d) The online format of application will have the fields for Educational qualification, Gender, | Cleaning of Bathrooms, Mopping floor, etc.

The community wise qualifying marks :- UR: 40, OBC-NCL: 30, SC: 30, ST: 25 (Please refer Para 13.1 of CEN 01/2018 in this regard). For PWD candidates the qualifying mark is relaxed by 2 marks from their respective community qualifying marks.

The 2nd Stage CBT for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technicians against CEN 01/2018 for the provisionally qualified candidates for 2nd stage CBT is scheduled from 20.01.2019 to 23.01.2019. All these candidates shall be advised through official website of RRBs / SMS / Email to download their Exam City Intimation about 10 days prior to the 2nd Stage CBT. The e-call letter will be available for download 4 days prior to CBT date.

Candidates can view their individual scores and their qualifying status for 2nd Stage CBT by logging in through the link provided on the official website of RRBs duly entering their Registration Number and Date of Birth. On login, candidates can also see their question paper in which he/she has appeared along with the correct answer marked among the four options. Based on the performance in the 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) conducted during the period from 09.08.2018 to 04.09.2018 by Railway Recruitment Boards for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technicians against CEN 01/2018, candidates bearing the Roll Numbers listed hereinunder who have secured their respective community wise qualifying marks have been provisionally shortlisted to appear in the 2nd Stage CBT. The community wise qualifying marks :- UR: 40, OBC-NCL: 30, SC: 30, ST: 25 (Please refer Para 13.1 of CEN 01/2018 in this regard). For PWD candidates the qualifying mark is relaxed by 2 marks from their respective
community qualifying marks.

The 2nd Stage CBT for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot and Technicians against CEN 01/2018 for the provisionally qualified candidates for 2nd stage CBT is scheduled from 20.01.2019 to 23.01.2019. All these candidates shall be advised through official website of RRBs / SMS / Email to download their Exam City Intimation about 10 days prior to the 2nd Stage CBT. The e-call letter will be available for download 4 days
prior to CBT date.

Candidates can view their individual scores and their qualifying status for 2nd Stage CBT by logging in through the link provided on the official website of RRBs duly entering their Registration Number and Date of Birth. On login, candidates can also see their question paper in which he/she has appeared along with the correct answer marked among the four options. This facility will be available only up to 19.01.2019.

The candidature of all the qualified candidates for 2nd Stage CBT is purely provisional and is liable to be cancelled, at any stage of recruitment or thereafter, in case of any inconsistency/deficiency in the data furnished or any malpractice on part of candidates coming to the notice of RRB. It may be noted that merely calling a candidate for 2nd Stage CBT does not entitle him/her in any way to an appointment in the Railways.

Duty of Railways Guard :

  1. Get the vehicle guidance (VG – written document containing numbers of wagons, their tare weight, load tonnage of individual wagons, total tonnage)from Station Master/Yard Master.
  2. Check the entire formation for anything that can endanger safe running of trains.
  3. Check that doors of wagons are closed.
  4. Check the brake continuity with Loco Pilot.
  5. Sign the Brake Power certificate(BPC) after ensuring sufficient brake power
  6. Constantly monitor the formation on the run for any abnormalities.
  7. Prepare train reports like Combined Train Reports, Late Arrival Reports...
  8. Attend along with LP/ALP minor troubles experienced on the run like brake binding etc.

Duty of Station Master :

1. To attend duty in time in neat and clean uniform and to see that all staff reports for duty in time & in uniform.
2. To conduct supervision over the working of the staff at the station.
3. The Station Master I/C will be overall responsible for safe working of trains and general working of station, in smooth and disciplined way. 
4. To carry out surprise checks, to arrest irregular practices adopted in train working.

6. To maintain muster roll, T & P register, Stock Block of Money Value Books, Ticket Stock books, attend all correspondence register of articles sent for repairs to traffic work shop, submit all salary vouchers to personal branch, monthly returns to office including absentee statements, submit replies to correspondence received at Station, take inventory of packages in hand at the close of the month and link them with inward tally / outward tally and relevant books.
7. To hold primary inquiries pertaining to any detention to trains or accidents taking place at the station and record statement of staff concerned and also to help in restoration of traffic.
8. To study station-working rules on receipt from DRM office and check various aspects pertaining to layout of the station and point out any variations, described in the SWRs. Explain the contents of the SWRs to staff at the station and obtain acknowledgement in the assurance register. To carry out necessary correction in the SWR received from office.
9. To do all commercial / operation duties entrusted to him. 
10. To pass train observing instructions given in SWRs and also watch any sick / unfit / defective vehicles found on running trains.
11. He is responsible for general supervision up keep and maintenance of station rules books, office record and files etc.
12. To carry out four surprise night inspections in a month and inspection of level crossing gates from time to time.
13. To attend control telephone while on duty without any loss of time and carryout instructions given by the controller of duty.

Duty of Gateman :

1. He is responsible for proper operation of the gate as per station working rules for the passage of trains with special reference to Appendix ‘A’ to these rules.
2. He shall ensure that no train suffer detain on account late closing of gate.
3. He shall clear the gate lamps and hand signal lamps daily. He shall ensure that the disk of the burners trimmed so that these are lighted properly and kept burning continuously from sun set to sun rise.
4. He shall ensure that the equipments at the L/xing are complete and in working order.
5. He shall produce public complaints book, when required by public for lodging complaint, and to the railway officials for inspection.
6. He is responsible that road traffic is not held up unnecessarily at the gate.
7. He is responsible for keeping the channels of check rails clean at all times.
8. He will maintain a log book for recording private numbers exchanged with cabinman in connection with closing of L/xing for passing the trains.
9. He shall obey all lawful order given by the SM on duty.
