Next Generation E-Ticketing system by IRCTC

E-Ticketing

  1. IRCTC is working along with CRIS for development of Next Generation E-Ticketing (NGeT) system. This new system shall be able to book 7200 tickets per minute, as against existing capacity to book 2000 ticket per minute.
  2. Between 2003-04 and 2012-13, the number of tickets booked on IRCTC website www.irctc.co.in has grown about 190 times.
  3. The estimated cost of this Next Generation E-Tecketing (NGeT) project is about Rs. 74 crore. The investment is being done by IRCTC.

This information was given by the Minister of State for Railways Shri Kotla Jaya Surya Prakash Reddy in written reply to a question in Rajya Sabha today.
